This panoramic still shows the amazing Krell lab set from the film "Forbidden Planet". Impressive even now, 55 years after the movie was released, imagine how it must have affected the audiences of 1956.
A feast of popular culture eclectica, easy to digest, every bit as tasty going in, as coming out.

I Think I Just Fell In Love
This, my friends, is Carl's Breakfast Burger (just ignore the kibbitzing breakfast items trying to elbow their way in on the right). If I were going to eat just one meal a day, this would be at the top of my list of candidates. Of course, we have WebMD to thank for this lovely picture (it's one of their "worst fast-food breakfasts").
Go Ask Alice
Seriously, Fellas, if you were doin' the horizontal bop with this babe, would you really need viagra?
Husky!
This is one of the nifty songs that I play somewhat regularly in my sets on Blip.FM. It has a decidedly masculine feel to it, so I usually make some reference to "testosterone" in the comments for the blip. It's very upbeat, and different from anything you might have encountered.
Enjoy!
Monster Chiller Horror Theater
IMO, the funniest of these parodies of TV monster movie programs by Second City TV.
The Glory of Classic Mid-Century Automobile Stylings
I am crazy about the cars of the 1950s. They were so uninhibitedly stylish and beautifully realized. The advertising for them was particularly alluring, celebrating the confident upward arc of affluent mid-century middle class lifestyles. Here are a series of ad pics for these enchanting machines, courtesy of Plan 59

"Everybody Knows The Weasel Blows"
I just love old drive-in intermission ads. Especially the ones that hit you with something perverse out of left field. This one is classic. The dude is so sleazy, that at the end of the commercial when he tilts a box of popcorn sitting in his lap towards the camera, it's easy to imagine he's hiding his johnson in it.

When Is One Ready To Post Something Meaningful?
I have lots of stuff that I would love to be posting here, but I am holding myself back until I feel I have established enough of the foundation of the blog to support the "meat" of the blog. I feel I need to have a goodly list of blogs to which others may navigate. I also want to have enough "eye candy" images to make it interesting to look at. I would also like to establish search keywords prior to a "grand opening". After having achieved these things, I believe I will be ready to release. Another week, maybe.
