The Hitchhiking Angel. The comments on the back of the plate notwithstanding, there is a story that is true and harrowing.


Angels occasionally become earthbound (and actually incapable of flight) by forces which humans will not comprehend. The only way they can get back to the heavenly realms is by attaching themselves to a spirit that has just passed from a dying body.  The angel is allowed to catch a lift on the spirit of a person who willingly gives them a ride in their vehicle. Anyone picking up a hitchhiking angel can expect to have a wholly unforeseen and fatal accident soon afterward.
