The Qualbiggiuses were strange looking, to say the least. But they never ever acted as if it bothered them or registered that they looked any different from the rest of us. They were completely innocent of vanity, and both very kind and very happy. Nevertheless they were shunned by all but the most tolerant people, who all counted themselves fortunate to have become friends with the couple. 


However, their pet Poison Dart frog was a different matter.
